Facebook and Snapchat continue to spy on iOS users even if they have blocked the app from doing so
Seven months later, Apple allowed Facebook and Snapchat to track user behavior and use the information to serve ads, but only if the data is anonymous and grouped rather than linked directly to specific profiles.
Apple told the developers that they cannot receive data from the device in order to uniquely identify it. According to the developers, this means that they can track users in groups and show relevant ads to each group.
Apple's position is the result of "an unrecognized shift that allows companies to take a much more loose interpretation of its controversial privacy policies."
In addition, Apple still permits the collection of unique data such as IP address, location, language, device model, and screen size. Some of this data is available to advertisers.
