The ISS launched an experiment to grow coronavirus protein
As cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev told TASS, an experiment was launched on the ISS to grow the coronavirus protein using a 3D bioprinter.
The nucleocapsid protein of the coronavirus was delivered to the space station on the S. P. Korolev” (“Soyuz MS-21”). It is now undergoing crystallization. The whole process is filmed on a GoPro camera. The experiment is carried out by cosmonaut Denis Matveev.
The experiment is expected to be completed by March 30. Soyuz MS-19 is scheduled to return to Earth on this day with three crew members: Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Petr Dubrov and NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hay
