2023-07-03 07:42:26 Have you subscribed to the Ingress Origin Kit on Niantic Supply? You can now submit the Agent name for your own customised deck box!

Head over to the link below and enter the same email address that you used to subscribe to the Origin Kits. After entering the confirmation code from your inbox you can see how many subscriptions are associated with your email and enter your Agent name for each one.

Each subscription can have a different name, so if you bought a second subscription for someone else, you can first enter your own name and then the name of the other person.

You have until July 14th to enter your Agent name(s). If you don't meet the deadline you'll still receive your deck box, but it'll not be personalised and will arrive blank.

2023-06-30 12:17:09 The past few hours have been hours of apprehension for Ingress Players. Niantic, in the person of CEO John Hanke shared with the public an email which was sent to all Niantic employees regarding some important organisational changes inside the company.

"I have made the decision to narrow our focus for mobile game investments, concentrating on first party games that most strongly embody our core values of location and local social communities. The mobile gaming market is very mature and only the best and most differentiated titles have a chance to succeed. We also want to increase our focus on building for the emerging class of MR devices and future AR glasses."

In light of this, Hanke stated that Niantic will be laying off about 230 employees, discontinuing their NBA: All Stars game and interrupting production of their upcoming Marvel: World of Heroes title. Their studios in LA, USA will also be closed, leaving their main base in San Francisco, where the company originated from.

Niantic has stated that Pokémon Go will be the top priority going forward, as far as mobile games are concerned. The aim of the company is to keep the game "healthy and growing as a forever game. While we made some adjustments to the Pokémon GO team, our investment in the product and team continues to grow."

Ingress players were left wondering if these layoffs would impact their beloved game and, for several hours, Agents relayed this question to Niantic's social outlets.

Finally, the Ingress Team posted a new article on the blog addressing the matter, thanking and praising the work of their colleagues who will be leaving and reassuring Agents that Ingress is continuing onward!

"Ingress continues to operate full steam ahead, and we remain optimistic for the future of the game and community we all love so passionately. The Ingress team will continue our focus on sustainability, as well as making the game easier to understand for new recruits so that we can grow our global Agent community."

While the Ingress team itself doesn't seem to be affected, we have received news that Ethan Lepouttre, the Marketing Manager for Niantic and best known for being the driver of the NL-1331 van, will also leave Niantic. We are thankful for him and all of the people who contributed to making Niantic and Ingress what they are now. We would like to thank all those impacted by this organisational shift and wish them all the best for their future endeavors.

2023-06-29 02:02:08 A new update for Ingress was released, Version 2.119.1!

You can now redeploy your Tesseract while doing an Overclock hack in case the cube got misplaced or the location you initially choose becomes unsuitable.

In addition, while you're nominating a new Wayspot, a new link was added to the Wayfarer Training Module.

Niantic also reintroduced the new 2sDay event in the Release Notes and makes another note that the 2x AP bonus does not count for Portal Scans.
The release notes do not mention Thia's remark which states that this last part will be fixed in the future.

One year ago, the Niantic Social feature was introduced in Niantic games, it has evolved to become its own application and got a major visual overhaul with this global release!

Via the app you will be able to access social channels related to your favourite Niantic Games, view the Campfire Map, create local communities and keep in touch with other players!

Attack or destroy a resonator
Destroy portal mod
Destroy link
Charge resonator (even remotely)

Participating in global Ctrl Connected Ops does NOT count as an interaction.

2023-06-27 09:07:21 Niantic announced a new weekly Event: Ingress 2sDay!

Every Tuesday, from 1800 to 1900 local time, Agents will be able to earn 2x AP for every action!

We have received no further information on when the event will begin, so keep your eyes peeled! It might already be online this evening!
