I read 120 books on journalism, poured through thousands of pages of academic research on themes such as privacy, secrecy, and whistleblowing. People say, "how do you have time to write a book?" All it takes is an hour of annoting sources every morning, a week off writing throughout night, twice a year for four years, and it’s finally done.
