I have long encouraged various people to go out and start a company or start building a project that helps further develop the DigiByte blockchain ecosystem. DGB has almost an unlimited amount of use cases that have yet to be tapped into. However, fully achieving them takes time, resources, and money.
We all have priorities and a need to put food on the table and a roof over our heads. Unfortunately, because DGB is so decentralized, we have no centralized pool of funds to support developers or provide bounties for continuous opensource development of the DGB ecosystem. This needs to come from companies and platforms that give back to open source DGB development.
With that said I wanted to take a moment to clarify some things regarding my role with DigiCorp and $DGMV. First and foremost I have no leadership role nor am I an employee of DigiCorp. I am simply an advisor advising on how to best build on top of DigiByte and use the DGB blockchain for innovative new real-world use cases.
To date, I have received zero compensation for being an advisor and I will not be receiving any $DGMV from their token launch, nor will I be participating in it as I am a US citizen and all US citizens are blocked from participating. This is very unfortunate but due to the regulatory environment in the USA, US citizens are now at a significant disadvantage on the global crypto stage.
Any compensation I may or may not receive in the future will be $DGB bounties for open source development or other tasks which benefit DGB overall as DigiCorp gives back to the open-source community. I have been an unpaid advisor to multiple other projects in the past which sought to build on top of DGB. I have always tried to do my best to support those working to build on top of DGB. Things can always change in the future as things progress. At some point, they may also be a sponsor to my upcoming podcast or they partner with my future commercial endeavors, but at this point, nothing is set in stone, but I want to be transparent with everyone.
It is important for people to understand decentralization is a spectrum. On one end is the truly decentralized DGB blockchain. On the other end are hundreds of centralized companies bringing services to everyday users that have added support for or use DGB in some way. $DGMV is not setting out to replace $DGB, nor could it.
There are dozens of other tokens for services and platforms that have incorporated DGB and provide services to users. It is important to remember we are trying to build a global ecosystem of companies, and platforms built upon DGB technology. As long as the underlying DGB protocol stays truly decentralized, all of humanity benefits from it.
I would finally like to remind people as I am simply an advisor I am not involved in day-to-day planning or decision-making for Digicorp. I am simply here if they have questions. So any specific questions regarding long-term plans or decisions need to be directed towards the DigiCorp team.
