One theory of “how we got here” is the ‘golden parachute.’

The idea that parents, wanting to give their kids a better life, demanded institutions provide for their kids what they didnt have - a college education, a home, & investments.

From this “American Dream”, our culture elevated education, home ownership, & retirement.

And the market gave it to them.

It is good to give your children good gifts.

It is best to train them up in the nurture & admonition of the Lord (Eph 6:4).
