2021-07-15 12:09:20 Important Points Of The Chapter “Sexual Reproduction in Flowering Plants”

Flowers are morphological & embryological & embryological structures and the sites of sexual reproduction.

The tapetum (innermost layer) nourishes the developing pollen grains. Cells of the tapetum posses dense cytoplasm and generally have more than one nucleus.

Pollen grain (male gametophyte): Generally spherical. 25-50 mm in diameter. Cytoplasm is surrounded by a plasma membrane.

Exine is made up of sporopollenin (highly resistant organic material).

Intine is a thin and continuous layer made up of cellulose and pectin.

In over 60% of angiosperms, pollen grains are shed at and pectin.

A typical mature angiosperm embryo sac is 8- nucleate and hilum.

Cleistogamous flowers produce assured seed-set even in the absence of pollinators.

Xenogamy brings genetically different types of pollen grains to the stigma.

In sea grasses, female flowers remain submerged in water. Pollen grains are long and ribbon like.

2021-07-14 17:45:08 How to give the final shape to the NEET 2021 Preparation :

Firstly, eliminate the stress, release the pressure. Don’t let the pressure of the exam period affect your performance. Lean on a practical approach and focus on winning. Here is a step to step guide that will help you make the most out of this time.

1. Map your class notes with NCERT
Class notes play a very important role; as they are handwritten, they tend to remain in your memory. Now is the time to recall and restore all your self-made notes. Remember, whichever topic you are revising, always pull out your self-made class notes for the ultimate learning. The self-made notes have the magic to bring you in term with even the most complex concept.

While studying, keep on mapping your topic and subtopics from the NCERT and self-made notes. Underline, Highlight. Within one week, you will see that you have developed a speed.

2. Chapter wise PYQs in the sequence of Bock Strategy
Past 20 years PYQ (Previous Years’ Questions) are only necessary; there is no need to go further back in the date. Do not deviate from that; focus on these questions only, along with the continuous mapping. This way, you will start gaining more confidence in basic topics and even complex topics. Try converting your time spent in taking pressure and use that energy to increase productivity.

3. AD Revision Plan
AD stands for alternate days. It would be best if you formed a revision plan based on the alternate day strategy. If you are revising Physics, Biology (Botany) on Monday, you should revise Chemistry and Biology (Zoology), and the cycle continues.

Note: you should fix the time for revision at two hours before sleeping, and you must revise based on the AD Plan. It would be best if you planned to revise what you had studied in the week/prior week. Remember, immediate revision gives the best result—Reattempt the PYQs as a part of the revision plan.

This way, you will be using the 30 days very productively and effectively. These 30 days will boost and align your energy very immensely.

All the best!!

2021-07-14 17:43:09 Important Points of The Chapter “Biological Classification”

Aristotle
was the earliest to attempt a more scientific basis for classification. He used simple morphological characters to classify plants into trees, shrubs and herbs.

R.H. Whittaker (1960) proposed a Five Kingdom Classification.

Three Kingdom of classification: Haeckel
(Added new kingdom Protista)

Four Kingdom Classification: Copeland (Added Monera)

Eubacteria: Fix atmospheric nitrogen in specialised cells called heterocysts, e.g., Nostoc and Anabaena.

Heterotrophic bacteria: Most abundant in nature. The majority are important decomposer.

Plamids are extra chromosomomal, small circular double stranded DNA molecules.

Episomes: When plasmids are integrating into the bacterial DNA chromosomes.

Mycoplasma: Joker of plant Kingdom
- Completely lack a cell wall
- Smallest living cells known
- Survive without oxygen

KINGDOM FUNGI
White spots seen on mustard leaves are due to a parasitic fungus.
Generally filamentous, except yeast (unicellular).
• The network of hyphae is knowm as mycelium.
Cell walls: Chitin + Polysaccharides
Lichens: Symbiotic association of fungi with roots
Mycorrhiza: Symbiotic association of fungi with roots of higher plans (Pinus).
VAM (Vascular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza) is an example of endomycorriza.
