Go Florida!

An FDA panel unanimously decided Wed (June 15) Moderna's vaccine should be providing protection against Covid-19 for children 6 months to 6 years in the USA.

The committee also voted to support a Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children ages 6 months to 5 years.

If its decisions are upheld by the FDA's commissioner and the CDC, the Covid-19 mRNA injections will be available for young children as soon as Tue (June 21).

Every U.S. state has pre-ordered Covid-19 vaccines for children under 5 except for Florida.

The Florida Department of Health said Wed (June 15) that it has not pre-ordered Covid-19 vaccines for children under 5 and does not recommend the shot for children.

The Florida Department of Health "has made it clear to the federal government that states do not need to be involved in the convoluted vaccine distribution process, especially when the federal government has a track record of developing inconsistent and unsustainable COVID-19 policies," the agency said in a statement.

Florida recommends children do not get the Covid-19 vaccine, which is in direct contradiction to guidance from the CDC. Go noncompliance!
