Business Development Officer
Are you a Business Development Ninja? Our client in the electronic media industry is urgently seeking to fill the role of Business Development Officer based at their offices in Nairobi, Kenya.
Job Purpose:
To identify business growth opportunities and develop strategies to increase company sales, through identification of company products and services that are underperforming, developing an in-depth knowledge of company offerings, pricing and policies and improving existing sales proposals. To be successful in this role, you should be adept at negotiating business deals and able to make sound decisions that will benefit the company.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO, your roles and responsibilities will include:
 Developing relationships with prospective clients while maintaining existing client relationships.
 Collaborating with management, design and production team to ensure that contracted work is executed on-time and as agreed.
 Spotting and designing sponsorship, product placement and advertising opportunities within our different television shows
 Creating compelling presentations and pitch decks for the different opportunities on our shows
 Providing insight into product development and competitive positioning
 Conducting market research to identify new business opportunities
 Approaching potential clients through new leads, cold calls, existing relationships, promotional events, or other means
 Tracking purchases and keep record of sales, contacts and deals
 Attending industry events, exhibitions and conferences, meeting potential and existing clients
 Working to maximize sales and meet targets.
 Delivering sales reports to management

Professional & Academic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
• At least 2-3 years of professional experience, with at least some exposure to working in the electronic media industry
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to travel as needed
• Some experience working in a startup or FMCG environment strongly preferred.
Net Salary
