10 Things To Do In These 10 Days!
The ten blessed days of Dhul-Hijjah have arrived.
In them righteous actions are better and more beloved to Allah than any other time even more than in the last 10 days of Ramadan.
Here are 10 actions for these 10 days:
1. Establish Tawhid and revive it it in the heart for example love for Allah, fear of him, hope in him, reliance upon him, turning to him and connecting the heart to him without anything besides him.
2. Repent and refrain from all things prohibited whether in speech or actions or beliefs such as backbiting, consuming Haram, having bad thoughts, hatred, jealousy, not fulfilling rights and oppressing others in their wealth or honour.
3. Strive to fulfil the obligatory actions in the most complete way such as the five daily prayers, obeying parents and keeping ties of kinship.
4. Strive to do voluntary prayers especially the Sunnah Rawatib, the night prayer and Duha and praying many extra prayers. Likewise to give a lot of extra charity with money, good speech and with the body by fulfilling the needs of other Muslims and lifting their burdens.
5. Fast the first 9 days of Dhul-Hijjah which is from the greatest of actions especially the day of Arafah for the one who is not performing Hajj.
6. Takbir in the Masajid, houses and shopping malls which is a Sunnah which is not acted upon a lot.
7. Strive to buy a good animal for slaughter because it is from the greatest acts Allah loves in these days and the one who leaves this while he has ability is no one but a deprived person.
8. Renew your covenant with the book of Allah by specfying an hour everyday for it, read 3 Juz in that duration until you complete the whole Quran. Also read Surah Ikhlas a lot all of the time because it equals a third of the Quran.
9. Strive to do the main Adhkar and take a daily portion of it: 100 times or more. For example:
Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahu ‘l-mulku walahu ‘l-ḥamd, wa huwa `alā kulli shay'in qadīr.
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise and He is Able to do all things.
Subḥānallāhi wa biḥamdih, Subḥānallāhi ‘l-`Aẓīm.
Glory be to God, and I begin with praise of Him; and Glory be to God the Incomparably Great."
Salla Allah ‘Alayhi wa Sallam.
Peace and blessings upon the Prophet.
Subḥānallāh. Walḥamdu lillāh. Wa lā ilāha illallāh Wallāhu Akbar.
Glorified is Allah, and The praise is for Allah, and There is none worthy of worship but Allah, and Allah is the Most Great.
Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.
There is no power and no might except by Allah.
Astaghfirullāha ‘l-'Aẓīm alladhi lā ilāha illā huwa ‘l-ḥayyul-Qayyūm wa atūbu ilayh.
I seek the forgiveness of Allah the Mighty, Whom there is none worthy of worship except Him, the Living, the Eternal, and I repent to Him.
10. Strive to read Duas from the Quran and Sunnah especially in the times of acceptance. Some Duas are:
⁃ رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ {٣:٨}
Rabbana lā tuzigh qulūbana ba’da idh hadaytana wa hab lana min ladunka rahmah, innaka anta Al-Wahhāb.
"Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower. {3:8}
⁃ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا في الدُّنْيَا حسَنَةً وفي الآخِرَةِ حسَنةً وقِنَا عذَابَ النَّارِ {٢:٢٠١}
Rabbanā ātinā fid-dunyā ḥasanah wa fi ‘l-ākhirati ḥasanah wa qinā `adhāban-nār.
