Гарри Хэмбли придумал Фасольку Кетнипз, когда ему было 17, после того как завёл инстаграм. Сначала он выкладывал самые разные рисунки, но быстро нашёл персонажа, который и привёл его к успеху, — Фасольку. Название для аккаунта пришло ему в голову случайно, рассказал Гарри.
Гарри рисовал в самых разных стилях. К предельно простой эстетике Кетнипза он пришёл постепенно. Когда он учился рисовать, то был реалистом. Но академический рисунок далеко не всегда способен передать то, что хочет сказать художник.
