Customers of the state-owned bank PrivatBank have donated around UAH 1.7 billion, or about $56.5 million to support Ukraine’s Armed Forces, the bank said in a Facebook post on Feb. 28.

“(The money will be used as) support for our defenders and victory bonuses,” the message reads. “You can’t buy peace, but you can buy gear and equipment for those defending us; we’re proud of our clients.”

In particular, UAH 850 million ($28.2 million) were transferred from virtual YePidtrymka cards. YePidtrymka was a program that allocated UAH 1000 to each vaccinated individual in Ukraine, though spending from that account was restricted to a limited industries, such as booksellers and movie tickets. Recently, the Ukrainian government also allowed YePidtrymka funds to be donated to the Ukrainian military.

“Every hryvnia is priceless,” the Private bank’s message concludes.
