The present continuous is used:

to describe an action that is going on at this moment:
For Example:
1)You are using the Internet. 
2) You are studying English grammar.

to describe an action that is going on during this period of time or a trend: 
For example:
1)Are you still working for the same company?
2) More and more people are becoming vegetarian.

BE CAREFUL! Some verbs are not usually used in the continuous form
