What does ‘securities depository’ mean?
A securities depository means the receipt, preservation, transfer, and recording of securities ownership of customers managed by the Vietnam Securities Depository Center, known as VSD. This activity is to guarantees the rights of holders involved in securities.
How to make a securities depository?
Create a new trading account
The first step of making securities depository is about to register a new trading account. It is now much more convenient and easy to create a new one.
Send a request to stockbrokers
To request a stockbroker to perform the depository process, you must first thoroughly prepare necessary records, such as an identity card, a shareholder register, or a stock certificate.
Check the details
In this step, each applicant has to collate information before submitting an application for amendment of their information at VSD. Securities companies will be in charge of all procedures for receiving records and processing depository requests.
Complete the process
When receiving customers' records, securities companies will be responsible for completing and sending them to VSD. Processing time can take 7 to 10 days.

VN30 Equal Weight Index represents the overall performance of the stocks from the top 30 companies with the largest cap and highest liquidity on HOSE - often known as blue-chip stocks.
VN30 Index was first established and put into use by HOSE on Feb 6, 2012, comprehensibly indicating the supply and demand relationship on the stock market as it considers all aspects: free-float, market cap and liquidity.
VN30 basket will be reviewed every 6 months for adding new component stocks and removing unqualified ones. Many listed companies see entering VN30 as the goal to improve their rankings, yet, HOSE has strict criteria to evaluate the stocks before adding to the basket.
VN30 Index has a significant implication for the stock market. It does not only denote the industries and sectors that are most attractive to investors at a certain point in time but also forecasts their future potential.
