Marlon Brando and Ron Galella, New York, 1974.
Ron Galella is the most unprincipled and wealthiest photographer of the 20th century, the author of many provocative and scandalous pictures. No one was beaten up so often by Hollywood stars and their bodyguards. Most of all he got in trouble with Marlon Brando - in 1973 the actor knocked out four teeth and broke his jaw in front of a restaurant in Chinatown. He himself, by the way, broke his fist and got an infection. After the incident, Galella pursued Brando exclusively in a soccer helmet.
During his career, Ron Galella took more than 3 million pictures of celebrities.
The shoes of a Celtic chieftain. These gold ornaments were found in 1977 near the village of Hochdorf an der Entz in Germany.
The mound was later called the Hochdorf Tomb and a museum was built there. At the time of his death, the chief was about 40 years old. His height was 178 cm. The tomb contained many valuable items, including a wagon with a set of bronze tableware.
But, of course, the gold ornaments on the decayed shoes attracted particular attention.
The evolution of the women's swimsuit. From left to right - 1932, 1890, 1900, 1910 and 1920.
Men were supposed to wear closed swimsuits. Men's toplessness was banned on New Jersey beaches until 1937, on the grounds that residents "don't want to see gorillas on our beaches”.

This picture is supposedly evidence that it was possible to send children by mail in the United States in the 1900s.
In fact, there is one known case of this kind. In 1914, the U.S. Postal Service sent a 5-year-old girl from Idaho to a city 150 kilometers away. This way the parents transported their daughter to her grandparents.
Although it was an isolated case, in 1920 the U.S. Postmaster General Albert Burleson forbade the mailing of children.
The imperial crown is the crown of kings and emperors of the Holy Roman Empire, which crowned almost all German monarchs of the early Middle Ages, starting with Conrad II.
The crown was most probably made at the end of the 10th century.
The first mention of it appeared in the XII century.
Prince Charles is bored during the coronation of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II (to his right and left are his grandmother and aunt, Queen Mother Elizabeth and Princess Margaret), June 2, 1953.
He seems to have guessed by then that the throne would have to wait a long time.
A resident of a small tribe in the mountains of New Guinea is shocked to see a white man for the first time in his life. Until 1930, these natives thought they were the only people on Earth at all.
Then a group of filmmakers came to the island to make a film about the natives. The autochthons later recounted: "At first, when we saw them all so pale, we thought they were the spirits of our ancestors who had come from the afterlife to bring us a message. But one day we saw one of the white people defecating. That's when we realized they weren't spirits but living people. People like us."
