[iPhone hacking charging cable

So I’ve heard about a cable that looks so similar to the standard iPhone cable charger and it’s now been compromised to hack your phone how is this even possible I understand if you connect to computer wire but from cable to outlet then to phone… how?? It probably picks up my phones data.. I’ve had to order a new one because I don’t remember moving my charger this morning.. so just going to play safe and get a new one from apple..

[Wifi repeating?

So for those who need background, I live in my car, and currently spend my free time learning to hack.

I'm trying to cobble together or create a device that will grab a signal from a free wifi source, and amplify it just enough to be reliable in my car.

Previously, I have attempted to Sauder a cars antenna to a wifi dongle, which allowed me to pick up a signal 0.55 miles away on a clear sky. Despite being able to see the SSID, the packet rate was about 8%, and the loading speed was 64kbps. Not really useful.

I've considered a cantenna, but I'm looking for something more passive that won't require just the right angle.

Does anyone have a suggestion on where I might consider looking?
