Google the topic in different ways. But not the written essays for them. Again google the topic itself. For example, if the question is about crime at young age then learn this topic including the consequences, the underlying reasons, who mostly commit crimes etc.

Google the topic and mention the source. I personally search the topic with the source mentioned such as newspapers, articles to name but a few.

Analyse model answers, preferably Simon's essays as he writes in a crystal clear way. Check out the post which elaborate on the analyzing model essays.

Brainstorm. First of all understand the question fully! Then simply switch off your logic and let the ideas flow. Put yourself in different positions I.e. try to think what other group of people or people in different fields would say. Once you have 4-5 logical+illogical ideas then don't forget to switch your logic back on and chose two logical ones to which you can give enough support and examples.

To never forget the ideas, write down buch of questions based on what you learnt from model essays, articles or videos(Ted Talks). Revise the questions from time to time and answer them actively don't just skim them through.

Videotape, record or simply retell the topic and the ideas you generated in front of a mirror.

To master the certain topic even better write in different positions. That is to say, if the question is asking you to what extend you agree or disagree the writte several essays, with the first one being 100% agree and the next 100% disagree, for example. In this way you will be flexible when you face this topic ever again.

Read, read and again read. Everybody becomes creative if they read a lot!
