2022-04-24 21:40:54 Procrastination is the habit of avoiding urgent tasks despite negative consequences. People are prone to prioritize short-term needs s.a. more enjoyable, simpler tasks ahead of long-term ones . However at the core, procrastination is an emotion regulation problem, not a time management problem.

Here are some effective ways to beat it:

• Don't worry too much. Keep a diary and right before working/studying write down everything you feel bad about, so that your thoughts don't keep distracting you.

• Trick your mind by
1) persuading yourself that you will do a particular task for only 5 minutes and setting low expectations . Like "I'm just going to read this book for 3 minutes and if I don't like it, I'll quit" or instead of "meditate for 20 minutes" - write "3 mins". Eventually, we end up doing this very task for longer.

• Break down your big task into very small ones, also be very specific in your plans. For instance, instead of planning that you should prepare for an exam - write read certain 3 paragraphs and take notes.

• Eliminate all the distractions. On social media, phone, etc. (P.s. I never had my notifications turned on). You can also put on your headphones so that people can't distract you.

• Be very confident in yourself as long as one of the most common rationales behind procrastination is low self-esteem and motivation. Don't consider yourself a loser, instead say - no - if I'm going to try really hard I'll become the person I wish to be. Believe in your ability, potential and effort

• 2-minute rule states that if a task takes less than 2 minutes to complete, don't postpone/write it down, finish it right away

• Do tasks which stimulate your mind instead of mindlessly scrolling. This might be workout, reading a book out loud or even doing household chores (research shows that it makes our thoughts much more structured)

2022-04-24 08:37:11 From which level should you start preparing for IELTS?

Preferably B2 a.k.a upper-intermediate level. This is mainly because IELTS isn't the next level or a new language, it is simply the test which measures your General English on a scale from 0.0 to 9.0. Therefore it is better to have a good grasp of the language as long as your aim is 7+. I got shocked when I saw people with A2 English attending IELTS courses, I even wouldn't recommend pre-pre-pre IELTS course for this level. As IELTS is an English test after all not the one which can be aced by learning magical tips and tricks!

P.s. Agar postlarni tushunmayotgan bo‘lsangiz tarjima qilib o‘qisangiz bo‘ladi!

2022-04-22 07:09:56 More often than not I see people make silly mistakes in word choice and basic grammar structures even though they claim their English is C1 because they use super advanced alternatives of words(though incorrectly). Therefore I am sharing the list of bloggers to follow to learn English at first!

English with Lucy- British teacher and explaines the grammar and pronunciation very well.

Linguamarina(russian but learnt english for ages)- lovely blogger and you guys might have already known that I love and look up to her.

Accents way- she mainly talks about accents and shows very useful techniques and even exercises to sound more natural.

Aussie English- I like the diversity of English and particularly Australian English!

MmmEnglish - Australian blogger teaching English from Australian perspective.

English with Vanessa - American blogger and good for people being a fan of this accent.

English with Rachel - American blogger teaching almost everything about American English, including pronunciation and vocab.

English speaking success - Really great channel for vocab. What is very amazing with this channel is that the Keith(the YouTuber) is a former IELTS examiner, meaning that his advice is very valuable.

E2 IELTS - As most of you guys are preparing for IELTS, this channel might be a very good option. They explain everything about IELTS, from listening question types to writing tips.
