The Aroon indicator signals traders whether price is trending or is in a trading range. It was invented by Tushar Chande, a world-renowned trader in 1995, and is also used to identify the beginnings of new trends as well as the strength or any covert change. The indicator is made of two lines that run horizontally (AroonDown and AroonUp) and measure the lapse between highs and lows in a defined time frame. When combined, they form the Aroon indicator.
