A LOVELY STORY
As I have said before in regards to Victorian Police, they have A LOT of work to do to regain the people’s trust.
I thought I’d share with you a step towards that which happened on May 15th.
The officer walking here with Jacquie is “Kate”. She has co-ordinated the last two rallies from a police perspective and always has been respectful and friendly. I actually think she might be awake to the agenda, but is unable to discuss it.
Saturday was the first time the Vicpol has been able to “choose” whether they wore a mask or not, but “Kate” decided to make a call that went beyond that by asking all of her members on the day to not wear their eyewear as you will notice in this photo. This was a directive going against command, but a decision made so that the officers could better engage in conversations on the day.
It sounds like a small step, but it’s a breakthrough in my eyes and I hope that “Kate” wasn’t reprimanded.
