Tag Questions
The two basic rules about tag questions are:
If the statement is negative, the tag must be positive. If the statement is positive the tag must be negative.
The tense of the tag is determined by the tense of the auxiliary/modal verb of the statement that precedes it.
Examples
You haven't seen this film, have you?
She's a doctor, isn't she?
He isn't here, is he?
I don't need to finish this today, do I?
Jenni eats cheese, doesn't she?
The bus stop's over there, isn't it?
They could hear me, couldn't they?
I'm never on time, am I?
