Comment by the Russian Embassy in Argentina:

We have taken note of reports made in the Argentinean media, notably the newspaper La Nación and the Buenos Aires Times, the English-language supplement to the newspaper Perfil. They quoted US Ambassador to Argentina Marc Stanley as saying on February 23 that that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov “would not be well received in this country, because he's got blood on his hands.”

If the US Ambassador really said this, we would like to remind him that personal attacks are considered bad form in international relations. Such methods are only used when there are no other arguments. Incidentally, President Vladimir Putin has recently replied to President Biden’s finger-pointing.

As for “blood on hands,” there is plenty of it on the Americans’ hands.

Since the end of the Cold War, the United States has held 251 military operations outside its national territory, destroying the statehood of many countries around the world and plunging them into chaos. Today, Washington is pouring modern weapons into Ukraine to aggravate the conflict.

We believe that Argentina is capable of steering its foreign policy independently, without any foreign instructions.
