On March 1, Foreign Minister
Sergey Lavrov met with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Türkiye
Mevlut Cavusoglu on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers meeting.
The Ministers exchanged views on issues related to Russia-Türkiye political dialogue and trade and economic cooperation, including disaster relief assistance to Türkiye following the earthquake in its southeastern part in February 2023.
While discussing the future of the Black Sea grain initiative, the Russian Foreign Minister said that the package grain agreement could continue only with due
consideration of the interests of Russian agricultural and fertiliser producers, notably, their free access to world markets.
The Ministers reviewed a number of international issues, including the situation in Syria . They paid special attention to the work of stakeholder countries in the region to
normalise Turkish-Syrian ties while simultaneously increasing efforts to eliminate the terrorist threat in Syria.
