Embassy comment regarding Sky News investigation on the rise of Russophobia in the UK
The results of the Sky News journalist investigation of cases of persecution and harassment of Russian-speaking citizens in the UK require the most undivided attention.
Among the most flagrant criminal actions documented by the British law-enforcement officials were battery, death threats, serious health impairment, vandalism and property damage and telephone terrorism.
We should also add to this list the requirement for businesses to cancel all ties with Russia, bans against Russian sportsmen and artists, as well as restrictions against the Russian Orthodox Church in the UK.
We consider such events a shameful page in modern UK history.
British Russophobia is nothing but racism.
We demand London to immediately stop the indiscriminate anti-Russian and Russophobic propaganda.
