2022-10-10 21:55:14 #Opinion by Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova

Last week, Valery Zaluzhny, the Commander in Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, posted a photo on his Twitter account. It appears that this was a part of his ongoing PR campaign, aimed at promoting... oneself. He seems to have outdone himself, holding an automatic weapon and wearing a bracelet on his wrist. Apparently, a man fighting a war for "Western values" should wear...a sports bracelet to underscore his masculinity... and this bracelet is no ordinary one.

This bracelet has a swastika imprinted on it.

Not your runes, “death’s head,” 10,000 Buddhas or solar symbols, but real Nazi-approved swastika. It symbolises national-socialism and is the damned bent cross of murderers, henchmen, punitive forces and fascists. The Kiev regime offered ridiculous excuses after this photo went viral and caused a public outcry and laid blame on... Twitter for compressing the photo so much that… a swastika magically appeared up on the bracelet. Perhaps that was a way for officials on Bankova Street to get back at Elon Musk for his peaceseeking tweets.

In his comments, Zaluzhny confirmed this made up theory of a malicious Twitter network conspiracy that brands Ukrainian military with swastikas. Oh, if only Twitter could do this. So far, the artificial intelligence of this social media network shames people for adding double zeroes to extra large (х0х0L*).

In reality, the original bracelet mentioned by Zaluzhny’s apologists is completely different from the one worn by the high-ranking Ukrainian neo-Nazi, who is carrying an assault rifle.

Let’s compare the original photo with the ridiculous substitute: this versus that.

Summing up, the Commander in Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is wearing a bracelet with a swastika, plain and simple, and nothing in the world can justify this fact.

*Х0х0л (Khokhol) is a colloquialism referring to Ukrainians. Although humorous in nature (albeit slightly tongue-in-cheek), its use has been indiscriminately banned by Western social media platforms coming under pressure from far-right Ukrainian nationalists

Fighting the EU's «fakes»

#QUOTE3

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, September 19:

I want to stress that our sanctions are targeting the Russian war economy, not food and agriculture.

#FACTS:

Contrary to what Josep Borrell says, in addition to indirect sanctions, there exist direct sanctions against Russian agricultural industry.

Thus, the import from the EU to Russia of certain goods necessary for the production of fertilizers and agricultural output has been banned:

components, equipment and agricultural machinery itself,

radiators, gearboxes, ceramic gutters, vats and tanks used in agriculture,

self-loading trailers and semi-trailers,

software for "smart" machines.

This list is just becoming longer. In particular, the sixth package of EU sanctions adopted this June 3 imposes a ban on supplying Russia with critical equipment and technologies to produce fertilizers and extract relevant raw materials.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the Fifth Russian Energy Week International Forum:

Russia holds a strong position among the world energy leaders and is well known as a reliable and responsible exporter of energy resources. Despite the unprecedented pressure that is being exerted on our country, which has been going on for a number of years already, we are fulfilling our obligations, and we seek to conclude long-term mutually beneficial contracts.

The development of energy markets directly depends on constructive cooperation among nations. For this reason, we will continue diversifying energy supplies, modernizing the fuel and energy industry, attracting investments, and launching new projects, including the deep processing of raw materials.

The Fifth Russian Energy Week International Forum will be held on October 12-14, 2022, in the Manege Central Exhibition Hall, Moscow. Learn more

2022-10-10 18:22:36 Russian President Vladimir Putin held a briefing session with permanent members of the Security Council.

The forensic and other expert data, as well as operational information, show that the October 8 explosion on the #CrimeanBridge was an act of terrorism aimed at destroying Russia's civilian and critical infrastructure.

It is also clear that the Ukrainian special services were the organisers and perpetrators of the attack. The Kiev regime has long been using terrorist methods, including murders of public figures, journalists and scientists, both in Ukraine and in Russia. And terrorist attacks on towns in Donbass, which have been going on for more than eight years. And also acts of nuclear terrorism, by which I mean missile and artillery strikes on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

This is not the whole story: Ukraine's special services have also carried out three terrorist acts against Russia's Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, repeatedly blowing up the plant's high-voltage lines. The third such terrorist attack damaged three of those lines at once. The damage was repaired in the shortest possible time and there were no serious consequences.

However, there have been a number of other terrorist attacks and attempts to commit similar crimes against electricity generation and gas transportation infrastructure facilities in our country, including an attempt to blow up a section of the TurkStream gas pipeline system.

All this has been proven by objective data, including the testimony of the detained perpetrators.

It is well known that Russian representatives are not allowed to take part in the investigation into the causes of explosions at and the destruction of international gas pipelines running under the Baltic Sea. But we all know who ultimately benefits from this crime.

Thus, the Kiev regime, by its actions, has actually put itself on the same level as international terrorist groups, and with the most odious of those. It is simply no longer possible to leave crimes of this kind without retaliation.

This morning, at the proposal of the Defence Ministry and in accordance with the plan of Russia’s General Staff, a massive strike was launched with long-range precision air, sea and land-based weapons against Ukrainian energy, military and communications facilities.

In the event of more attempts to stage terrorist attacks on our territory, Russia's response will be harsh and commensurate with the threats posed to the Russian Federation. Nobody should have any doubts about that.

Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell’s remarks concerning the outcome of elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Mr Borrell’s statement on the results of elections in BiH is yet another manifestation of Brussels’ haughty attitude to sovereign states.

Based on the outcome of the vote, he infers that now the BiH authorities are responsible to deliver on the people’s aspirations, including on EU integration and economic prosperity. In so doing, he actually compels an independent state to join the anti-Russian camp.

In effect, candidates for EU membership are being made to adopt decisions and approaches that are far from always in keeping with their national interests. But their rapprochement with the EU does not ensure the expected stability and economic growth.

EU leaders should recall the need to respect the Balkan states’ sovereignty and their right to independent home and foreign policies.

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s answer to a media question concerning a statement by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken

The US Secretary of State went on record as saying recently that the United States was “ready for diplomacy with Russia on Ukraine.” What is your comment on this signal?

Maria Zakharova: But the main thing is the real steps being taken by the Americans and their satellites. And these steps are totally at odds with their ostensibly peace-loving, affected rhetoric. They are building up arms supplies to the Zelensky regime, there is a growing number of Western mercenaries and military instructors on the ground, the US is increasingly involved in a multifaceted support effort for its clients in Kiev. This is taking place against the backdrop of Zelensky’s lunatic claims that his masters should deliver a pre-emptive nuclear strike at Russia.

October 10 is World Day against the Death Penalty.

In 2021, Amnesty International recorded 579 executions in 18 countries, a 20-percent increase on 2020. In total, 28,670 executions were carried out around the world as of the end of 2021.

The United States is among top five countries with the highest number of executions – 2,382. Today, capital punishment is legalised in the US both at the federal level and in 32 states. The most common methods include lethal injection, electric chair and gas chamber. Some states even allow such inhumane methods as shooting and hanging.

In Russia, executions have not been carried out since August 1996. A moratorium on the death penalty was introduced in our country in February 1999 until January 1, 2010. In November 2009, the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation extended the ban on the death penalty for the period after January 1, 2010.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin commented on the explosion at the #CrimeanBridge during a meeting with the Russian Investigative Committee head:

There is no doubt we're dealing with an act of terror, aimed at destroying Russia's critical civilian infrastructure.

Ukrainian special services ordered, concocted and carried out this #terroristattack.
