World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab tells the World Government Summit, “History is truly at a turning point,” with economic instability, conflict between major global powers, and the coming fourth industrial revolution.

In a short address delivered virtually to the World Government Summit in Dubai on Tuesday, Schwab said there will be systemic and structural changes, and that global supply chains, energy, and food systems will be deeply affected.

The House Oversight Committee launched a probe Monday into Credit Suisse, demanding documents linked to the bank's compliance with sanctions on Russian oligarchs.

In a letter to Credit Suisse CEO Thomas Gottstein, US lawmakers asked the bank to turn over information and documents about a portfolio of loans backed by yachts and private jets owned by clients, potentially including sanctioned Russian individuals.

In particular, House Oversight Chair Carolyn Maloney and Rep. Stephen Lynch, chair of the Subcommittee on National Security, expressed alarm over Credit Suisse asking hedge funds and other investors to "destroy documents" related to yachts and private jets owned by the bank's clients. The Ukrainian government has a new way to finance its war with Russia: NFTs.

The country’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, which has embraced crypto in recent weeks as a means of soliciting donations from sympathetic foreigners, is releasing 54 nonfungible tokens (NFTs), a series of digital blockchain-based images. The hope is that Ukraine can raise awareness and money for its cause as it continues to stave off Russia’s military.

It’s a contemporary spin on the war bond, a debt security sold to finance a war and stave off inflation. But the NFT project is also a commitment to documenting Russia’s invasion and raising international attention, in stark contrast to the Russian government’s efforts to limit the internet, threaten journalists, and censure any reference to “war” with Ukraine. Ukraine is prepared to discuss adopting a neutral status as part of a peace deal with Russia but such a pact would have to be guaranteed by third parties and put to a referendum, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in remarks aired on Sunday.

Zelenskiy was speaking to Russian journalists in a 90 minute video call, an interview that Moscow authorities had pre-emptively warned Russian media to refrain from reporting.
