Ka-27 helicopter of the frigate Admiral Gorshkov carries out observation flights in difficult weather conditions
In adverse weather environment in the Atlantic Ocean, the air group of the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov practised off-board flying the Ka-27 helicopter.
The training was conducted as planned. The personnel practised aerial reconnaissance to determine the air and surface conditions along the frigate's route.
During the flying shift, the crew also practised take-offs and landings on the frigate's helipad to keep flight personnel training up to date.
The flights took place with sea waves of up to 3 point and wind speed of about 15 m/s.
The frigate Admiral Gorshkov is a modern multi-purpose ship with guided missile weapons designed for long-range maritime and oceanic missions. It was commissioned by the Navy in 2018, and in 2021 it was upgraded to use hypersonic Tsirkon missiles.
