al-Baqir, meaning the Splitter of Knowledge, was a title given to the fifth Imam by God Almighty Himself in the Narration of the Tablet, saying,
"The fifth successor to the Seal of the Prophet (PBUH) will be the Splitter of My knowledge and the repository of My wisdom".
