- Post the release of CPI data which displayed a slight increase, investors were pulled back into the market excitement, with a hope that the FED will now dial back on its aggressive stance for fighting inflation. The Dow Jones and NASDAQ composite index rose above 100 points. Asian indices also jumped on the Bulls back, with Japan's Nikkei surging 80 points.
3) Rupee declines against the US Dollar - The rupee pared most of its early losses to close down by 9 paise at 82.60 against the US dollar on Tuesday, weighed down by firm crude oil prices and inflation concerns.
