The bar chart illustrates how many Australian male and female students studied engineering at universities over the years from 1992 to 2012

Overall, the number of men, who were interested in engineering, was far higher than that of women. Yet, the figure for female students climbed gradually decade by decade while a slight decline can be seen in the quantity of their counterparts.
