Palmyra Atoll in the Pacific Ocean
A group of 50 islands, an area of 12 square kilometers. People who have visited the atoll's islands claim that they have constantly experienced a feeling of unaccountable terror there.
It is believed that the islands of Palmyra Atoll, kill those who find themselves there.
The atoll was discovered by American captain Edmund Fanning in 1798, his ship struck the reefs. Almost all members of the crew drowned or were eaten by sharks. Of the ten men who made it ashore, only three survived - when another ship picked them up two months later, they claimed that the others were killed by the island.
During World War II, the American military garrison was stationed there. The soldiers described being in a constant state of incredible panic and aggression. They often quarreled among themselves, conflicts often ending in murder or suicide.
After the war, the mysterious islands became uninhabited again. Travelers who came here often died under mysterious circumstances.
