Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire is England's "creepiest castle".
This grandiose building has a rich history - erected in XII century and belonging to different noble families of England in different centuries, in 1883 the castle became uninhabited. Perhaps this happened "thanks" to the mysterious inhabitants, accumulated here for seven centuries.
The most popular of them is the ghost of a boy who, unnoticed by visitors, likes to take them by the hand and walk around the castle. Needless to say, such "company" pleases few people?
After the transfer of Bolsover by its formal owner into the ownership of the state, the castle entered the list of the most important monuments of antiquity and architecture. Which, however, had no effect on its original inhabitants.
According to the castle's employees, doors often slam, heavy footsteps and muffled conversations are heard here, and sometimes shouts and ghostly lights flare around the castle.
