Belitz-Heilstetten, Germany
Forty kilometers from Berlin there is a sanatorium that was once considered the best in Germany. At first it was a hospital for tuberculosis patients and later a military hospital.
In 1916 the young soldier Adolf Hitler "licked his wounds" there. After World War II the hospital was at the disposal of the Soviet authorities.
There are many horror stories about the sanatorium in Bielitz. Strange noises are allegedly heard there, and soldiers' letters are still found in the walls of the building.
Speculation and nothing more? Probably. But visitors say the longer they stay, the more tired and depressed they become.
