A gay Kenyan man who goes by the name Mwalimu Erickson on Facebook has come out to say that he contracted HIV while experimenting with a man I met in a club in Kisii.
Erickson, who has openly declared his gay status, said he was "curious of trying it out with a Kisii man", not knowing that this would be a mishap in his life.
"I don't wanna lie that accepting to live with the virus was not easy for me but HIV can be controlled. Our HIV status doesn't define us. I want to be the voice of the voiceless so I end stigma and discrimination on people living with HIV," he wrote.
Speaking to a local publication, Erickson disputed claims that his account was hacked. He clarified that he is in control of his social media accounts and decided to share his HIV story.
