Mr Wilberforce Murunga is a happy man after a court ordered his in-laws to refund him three cows, a she goat and Ksh 20,000 he had paid as bride price.
In 2019, Wilberforce had paid Ksh 50,000, four cows, a she goat, a hat and a pair of gumboots as per the requirements for what he thought would be an Everlasting marriage. Things however didn’t go as planned and when his wife Irene Khasoa left her matrimonial home one year and a half later, he went to court seeking for a refund
Going against his ex-wife who is a lawyer terrified Wilberforce who had doubts of winning the case and the mediator ruling in his favor was a dream come true for him.
On Saturday, he and his brother proceeded to the chief’s office to pick his three cows and a she goat. He forfeited one cow and Ksh 30,000 as a token of appreciation.
Wilberforce Murunga who is expected to return to the states soon said it was his right to get his dowry back and urged men who are suffering in silence to take a step.
