Four IEBC Commissioners led by deputy chairperson Juliana Cherera have explained the reason as to why they rejected the presidential results that declared Deputy president William Samoei Ruto as the president in the elections held on 9th August 2022.
Speaking just before the declaration, Juliana Cherera said the aggregation provided by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati was incorrect and the results were opaque.
Speaking to the press today , Juliana Cherera said the calculation gave a total of 100.01 and the remaining 0.01translates to 142,000 votes which could make a significant difference in the results.
She added that the accuracy of the results was not comprehensive and that the results did not indicate the total number of registered voters rejected votes and voters cast and this the total number of votes cannot be generated.
She concluded that the process that led to generation of form 34C was opaque and the results provided by Wafula Chebukati cannot be owned by IEBC.
