The work of Professor John P Ioannidis, an esteemed Epidemiologist from Stanford University, has been integral in breaking through the NLP fear based rhetoric our Governments keep running with.
If you believe that the virus in question is a deadly "beast" as Brett Sutton puts it, then I would refer you Professor Ioannidis' paper published in the WHO bulletin on the 14th of October 2020.
Now as a disclaimer, I do not necessarily subscribe to the mainstream germ theory model of medicine, however if you were to do so, Professor Ioannidis' findings should dispel any and all myths that this is a wildly infectious and deadly disease that constitutes a pandemic, thus edifying the position that egregious measures such as lockdowns, business closures and facemasks are not warranted.
Ioannidis surveyed 61 studies and a number of national estimates in regards to what they are calling Sars-cov2 and came to the following conclusion:
"Most locations have an infection fatality rate of less than 0.20% and with appropriate, precise non-pharmacological measures that selectively try to protect high risk vulnerable populations and settings, the infection fatality rate may be brought even lower."
We are in lockdown for a virus, that according to Professor John Ioannidis in a peer reviewed, WHO published paper, that has a 99.8% survival rate.
There is a reason our politicians are not tabling the "public health advice."
