Team! There is a lot of talk about leave and sick leave. Do not confuse the process for yourself. This is what stands:

Sick leave can be taken at any time if you have a medical certificate from your doctor. If you have ample sick leave then you can use it provided the time frame is stipulated by your GP. Put in for sick leave from the date you're required back on site.

If you do not have much sick leave left then you should still be able to use what is left and then after that you may need to go on LWOP or any other leave you have saved up.

We won't know what you'll be granted as everyone's circumstances are different so just apply for the date that YOU ARE required back on site.

An employer cannot deny you sick leave if you have a medical certificate and you have sick leave days left. Do not be bothered by their threats.

Any other leave is up to your boss so this may come down to a case by case scenario which we won't know the outcome until you actually apply.

The mandated date for everyone to be vaxed seems to be between the 18th and 25th October. It seems that they know the date has changed which is why they're being flexible with people's leave from the 25th October and 8th November.

It looks like they are taking a hardline approach for anything from the 8th November but you still have to try and put in for whatever leave you can get.

The aim here is to just buy us time. Push back as much as you can. On Wednesday night we will be discussing a common law notice that you can use which has been specifically written for us. We will try everything!
