1. Given by Linnaeus.
2. Organisms were divided into two kingdoms Plantae and Animalia.
Disadvantages: This system did not distinguish between eukaryotes and prokaryotes, unicellular and multicellular organism & photosynthetic & non photo-synthetic organisms.
FIVE KINGDOM CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
1. Given by R.H. Whittaker.
2. All organisms were divided into five kingdoms Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae and Animalia.
3. Fungi were placed in separate kingdom called kingdom fungi.
