2021-08-23 21:48:50 The RI Furs shall once again be participating in the ALS Association's RI Chapter's "Walk to Defeat ALS" to raise money in memory of Tony "Dogbomb" Barrett.

It is a Virtual Walk, so you may walk at home, around the neighborhood, at a park or stream yourself walking online. ("Walk Your Way!") However, they have also announced a Tribute Walk to take place on Sunday, September 12, at Rocky Point Park in Warwick. Details are coming soon.

2021-07-19 17:12:08 Pre-RI Furbowl park meet - August 7, 4 p.m.


Weather permitting, there will be a furmeet at Slater Park at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, before the furbowl. This is a quiet place to socialize and meet people instead of the noisy bowling alley. (It's also a good place for Pokémon Go, if you're still into that.) THIS MEET IS OPTIONAL. You do not have to attend this meet. The main event for the day is the furbowl.

The location to meet up will be in the parking lot of Daggett Farm in Slater Park. The address is RR 1A (Newport Avenue), Pawtucket. (MAP IS HERE) It is less than ten minutes away from East Providence Lanes. We shall stay there until about 6:30 so we can then drive to the alley.

Fursuits are allowed at the park. You would have to change up by your car. Remember that there is a furbowl taking place that night, so don't overexert yourself. Open / Comment

Anyone under the age of 16 who is attending any RI Furs meet must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must stay in attendance at the meet at all times.

If you've been there before, the rules are the same, but everyone will be asked to pay $2 for admission to help cover for the cost of the party room. As you know, a lot of local businesses have been hit by the pandemic, and this admission fee will help our venue. The cost for bowling is still $13 for 90 minutes, so if you're coming to bowl, you're paying $15 total.

If you would feel more comfortable having a mask on while around people or if you're supposed to be wearing a mask, then wear one.

When you arrive, head to the left towards Lane 1 and you will be asked to sign in with your real name, furry name, some contact info and how you're paying.

The party room is open to everyone but is not secured, so please keep an eye on your valuables.

We have been allowed to bring fans into the party room to help with cooling the room down. Please bring your own fans, power strips and extension cords.

Do not bring in outside food. There is a concession stand and a bar. You will be carded. We usually plan for post-furbowl dinners. Please call your restaurant ahead of time and keep your groups small.

Fursuits are allowed and can go on the lanes with footpaws. The party room and/or the bathrooms are changing places.

If you are taking pictures or video, please ask for consent from your subjects. Tweet them to @RIFurbowl or @RIFurs. Please be ready for the group photo on time. Open / Comment

2021-07-18 19:58:51 Mac & Cheese potluck party - August 14, 3 p.m. (RI Furs)


A potluck meet will be held and it will have a macaroni and cheese theme. Everyone who attends is encouraged to bring their own homemade mac and cheese dish. Please reach out to them to make sure that you are not accidentally duplicating someone else's recipe. An oven is available for reheating dishes.

The event will be held on Saturday, August 14, at 3 p.m. in Portsmouth, RI. If you are travelling over the Newport Bridge and you do not have an EZ-Pass transponder, the toll is $4 one-way and $8 round-trip. To get the home address, please contact @garbagekitty on Telegram.

Fursuits are allowed and changing space will be available.

Bring your own chairs and blankets.

BYOB, but underage drinking is certainly not allowed.

Please be on your best behavior and use common sense. This event is at someone’s home. Please be courteous to the host, other guests, the yard and the neighbors. Any poor behavior will first be addressed with a warning by the host and any further poor behavior will result in you being removed from the meet. Open / Comment
