Less ‘Long Covid’ Risk From Omicron - UK Investigation

A team of King’s College London researchers have claimed the risk of suffering lingering symptoms - known as “long Covid” - from last winter’s Omicron variant was more than twice lower than from the previous Delta variant.

The significance of the study was rubbished by statistics professor Kevin McConway though, who claimed the far greater volume of Omicron cases “entirely trumped” the lower risk of long Covid.

Before Omicron there were 1.3mn British cases of long Covid, compared with “at least” 2mn after it broke out.
