Yes of course we have too little space on earth too little food - too many people - climate change (for 4 billion years), too much garbage, too less money, too less energy, too less oil?
So if energy can never be lost - how should that be possible ?

Food is destroyed to keep prices "stable" and people have to starve - with what we have we could feed more than double the people !
