Access to abortion under new threat in Oklahoma and Missouri
While
abortion rights advocates may score some victories in
US states in the coming days, they are sounding the alarm over an
Oklahoma bill that would ban almost all
abortions, which is likely to be signed into law. Here are some of the moves this week in state legislatures and by state leaders that you may have missed.
Oklahoma lawmakers passed a law banning abortions in the state, except to save the life of a pregnant woman in a medical emergency.
The bill is headed to
Republican Governor Kevin Stitt, who has promised to sign any legislation restricting abortions that comes across his desk.
