Unexpected raids were found to have fatalities and consequences of drug seizures

In Louisiana
, it took just a few clicks on the Internet for a judge to give West Baton Rouge County officials the okay to break into a motel room without knocking. Within 30 minutes, police officers burst in and shot an unarmed black man and seized just over 22 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine and hydrocodone.

In St. Louis,
a judge authorized police to break down the doors of 3 homes at once without knocking. Officers killed a 63-year-old black grandfather, and police said they found just over 9 grams of heroin, marijuana, fentanyl and hydrocodone in the 3 homes combined.

In Houston,
a judge granted multiple requests for a no-detonation ban for officers who relied on unnamed informants. One raid led to a shootout in which a white man and woman were killed and 4 officers were shot and the police did not find heroin as promised to find it.
