Germany's defense concern Rheinmetall has submitted an application to the
German government for approval to supply
88 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine, the Welt newspaper reported, citing documents available to it.
According to the newspaper, the application was submitted to the
German government at the end of last week. The cost of previously used
Leopard 1A5 tanks is about 115 million euros. The proposal to transfer the tanks was received by
Kiev on 14 April, the first deliveries are ready to be made
"within a few weeks": the
1st 22 tanks - in 6-8 weeks, the remaining
66 tanks will be gradually transferred until the
end of 2023.
