At only two centimeters long, the beautiful Malayan Pygmy Rasb | NParks Buzz

At only two centimeters long, the beautiful Malayan Pygmy Rasbora or Dwarf Rasbora (Boraras maculatus) is the smallest Rasbora species in Singapore!

This World Wildlife Day, we commemorate even the tiniest of wildlife in our forests.

A critically endangered species threatened by illegal fishing for the ornamental trade, sightings of the Dwarf Rasbora have been recorded within the protected Nee Soon Swamp Forest.

With pristine forest streams and specialised microhabitats, the Nee Soon Swamp forest supports almost half of the freshwater fish species in Singapore! Read more about the fish species living in this important freshwater habitat here.
