Listening Paper 1
* Familiarize with nature of paper (duration, number of parts and questions, types of stimuli used in each part)
* Read the instructions
* Go through the paper in the 1 minute given to get an idea of what you will be listening to
* Listen for keywords
* Active listening requires you to do some mental reasoning as some distracters are too distracting (Round 1 is meant for this as you check options in MCQs)
* Take some time to double check your answers just to be sure you didn't miss out

Speaking Paper 2
* Familiarize with nature of paper (duration, number of parts and questions, types of stimuli used in each part)
* Get used to mind-mapping ideas as you brainstorm
* Practice speaking using the exact time frame (Part 1: 2 mins preparation, 2 mins speech and Part 2: 3 mins preparation, 6-10 mins discussion (if 3 per group) or 8-12 mins discussion (if 4 per group)
* Encourage weaker students to get the ball rolling by drilling a set of introductory phrases and also to close the discussion using a set of closing remarks
* Get students familiar with sentence connectors, and language forms and functions fit to both parts (practice makes fluent)
* Make them speak English in class and do the practices in small groups to build their confidence in speaking English
* Encourage students to watch vlogs, songs, movies, documentaries, speeches, news or read blogs, books, journals and other beneficial materials to add-on to their vocabulary bank
* Teachers can help with pronunciation, enunciation and stress of words
* Towards the real thing, get them to work in designated groups (according to index number) within time frame given and ask them to do a reflection after every session

Reading Paper 3
* Familiarize with nature of paper (duration, number of parts and questions, types of stimuli used in each part)
* Read the instructions
* Encourage students to watch vlogs, songs, movies, documentaries, speeches, news or read blogs, books, journals and other beneficial materials to add-on to their vocabulary bank
* Skim, scan and use contextual context whenever deemed possible
* Make it a habit to get students attempt the paper according to the exact time frame of 90 minutes with a 5 minutes for double checking answers

Writing Paper 4
* Familiarize with nature of paper (duration, number of parts and questions, types of stimuli used in each part)
* Read the instructions
* Encourage students to watch vlogs, songs, movies, documentaries, speeches, news or read blogs, books, journals and other beneficial materials to add-on to their vocabulary bank and also pool of ideas
* Get students to be really, really efficient in Part 1 (email) so that they can save some time and have more time for Part 2.
* Students should prepare a small book for list of idioms, famous sayings and low frequency words
* Try (as much as possible) to stick to the word count given
* Mind-mapping ideas is a gem, always!
* Read good sample essays to get a clear picture of organization of ideas
* Get to know the cohesive devices and it's uses and use them accordingly
* Practice, practice and practice within the time frame of 90 minutes with a 5 minutes to go through the grammar, spelling etc.
