A son of a jazz musician, he was ranked the 79th in Bloomberg’s list of the world’s richest people (2020). Despite this fact, Dalio criticizes the US economic system, insisting that it has to be reformed.

At the age of 12, Ray invested his savings ($300) in Northeast Airlines’ shares and managed to triple this amount shortly after. In his 20s, Dalio worked for Shearson Hayden Stone. Unhappy with the corporate routine, he indulged in provocative tricks. They included inviting a stripper to a public gathering and punching his boss in the face.

In 1975, Dalio founded Bridgewater Associates that evolved into the world’s largest hedge fund by 2005. Due to Dalio’s foresight and wisdom, the fund managed to make profits during the crisis of 2008-2009 when most of its rivals suffered losses.
