A PARABLE ABOUT ANGEROnce there lived a very hot-tempered and unrestrained young man. One day, his father gave him a bag of nails and ordered him to hammer a nail into the fence post every time he couldn't control his anger.
On the first day, there were dozens of nails in the post. The following week, he learned to control his anger, and with each passing day, the number of nails hammered into the post decreased. The young man realized that it was easier to control his temper than to hammer nails.
Finally, the day came when he didn't lose his composure at all. He told his father about it, and his father said that this time, for each day the son manages to restrain himself, he can remove one nail from the post.
Time went by, and the day came when he could tell his father that there were no nails left in the post.
Then the father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence:
"
You did well, but do you see how many holes are in the post? It will never be the same as before. When you say something evil to someone, they are left with a scar just like these holes. And it doesn't matter how many times you apologize afterward — the scars remain. So never lose your temper so as not to leave scars on other people's hearts."
Have a great weekend.
