Another successful #greenshootsseries session held at Bridge+ 79 Robinson Road!
We hosted the leaders from 4 central banks, Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) to discuss multi-CBDCs (central bank digital currency) for international settlements and how it could change the future of payments.
Missed the session? Here's our key takeaways:
- BIS Innovation Hub Centre will be leading Project Dunbar, an initiative that will prototype shared platforms enabling direct transfers between institutions using digital currencies issued by multiple central banks
- Project Dunbar will eliminate the need for intermediaries and also reduce the time and cost of transactions
- The work done on multi-CBDC will break new ground in this next stage of CBDC experimentation and lay the foundation for global payment connectivity
A big thank you to our distinguished speakers as well as all who came down for the event!
